Dance at the Ballet School of Glyndon

Our dance program offers a dynamic range of classes—including ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, hip hop, acro, and theatrical—for students from Pre-K through advanced high school levels. This variety allows dancers to explore different styles, build strong technical foundations, and develop confidence, discipline, and creativity. As students progress, they are supported with age-appropriate instruction that challenges them to grow while fostering a love for movement and artistic expression.

Each dancer’s journey is guided with care to ensure both progress and safety. While class offerings vary by age and level, students are placed where they can thrive and succeed. Pointe classes, in particular, are introduced only when a dancer is truly ready, with placement determined by our lead teacher and director based on important physical and technical criteria—ensuring a safe, positive,

The Dance program runs a annual from September through June each year with Registration normally opening in August. Each year, the troupe will have a recital in June.

Practice sessions vary week-to-week, but run from 5 pm – 9 pm on Tuesdays.

Sessions are held once per week at the Dance Studio in Cedarmere Elementary School.

Note: The Dance Studio is the last set of double-green doors when entering the building from the bus loop.

The program is open for any child from pre-kindergarten through high school.

Each year, costumes will be provided by the program for each dancer for the end of Season Event. Dancers must bring their own appropriate dance practice wear, shoes, proper eyewear (for those requiring glasses), and water.

  • Permitted: Simple hair ties and headbands.
  • Not Permitted: Jewelry, including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, is not allowed during games for safety reasons.

Dancers of all skills are welcome to be a part of the program. Depending on the dance types, current skill level, and event schedules, classes will be built accordingly.

Each season the dancers are encouraged to participate in our fundraisers to help offset the instructor and lighting fees. Typically, fundraisers are run during the fall and spring.

The Ballet School of Glyndon has been teaching dance to the greater Reisterstown area for since 1960!

All of our programs rely entirely on dedicated, non-paid volunteers. If you’re passionate about helping everyone within our community grow and succeed, we’d love to have you on board as a Coach, Assistant Coach, or helper! No prior experience is needed-just a commitment to making a positive impact. See our [Volunteer] Page for the process.

Thanks from the team!
