The Reisterstown Recreation Council (RRC) is a volunteer‑run, community‑focused organization dedicated to enriching the lives of residents in Reisterstown, Maryland, and the surrounding Baltimore County area through accessible, high‑quality recreational programs for all ages.

For decades, RRC has been a trusted local resource for youth sports, adult athletics, and community programs, bringing neighbors together through teamwork, fitness, creativity, and civic pride.

Who and what is the RRC?

Reisterstown Recreation Council operates under the guidance of the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks, working collaboratively to provide safe access to public fields, parks, and facilities for the benefit of the local community.

The Council is governed by a volunteer Executive Board made up of individuals who are deeply invested in the success of Reisterstown’s recreational programs—many of whom are current or former coaches, parents, and program leaders themselves. This hands‑on leadership ensures that every program aligns with our mission, budget standards, and community values.

RRC offers a diverse range of recreational opportunities designed to meet the needs of children, teens, and adults at every skill level, including:

  • Youth sports & activities such as basketball, baseball, soccer, football, lacrosse, cheer, dance, wrestling, and more each year.
  • Adult sports leagues including basketball, boxing, and soccer
  • Community programs & events like the Reisterstown Festival, Bloomin’ ArtFest, community gardens, and dog park initiatives
  • Seasonal and special‑interest activities that promote lifelong wellness and social connection

All programs are self‑sustaining, volunteer‑supported, and approved by the Executive Board to ensure long‑term stability and quality.

As a locally rooted organization, RRC is committed to:

  • Providing affordable and inclusive recreation for all residents
  • Maintaining safe, well‑organized programs in partnership with Baltimore County
  • Encouraging youth development, sportsmanship, and leadership
  • Strengthening community connections through shared experiences

Whether you’re enrolling a child in their first sport, joining an adult league, volunteering, or attending a local event, RRC exists to serve Reisterstown, Maryland—our home.
