Mustangs Cheerleading

Our cheer program is dedicated to building confident, disciplined, and supportive athletes. Cheerleaders learn the fundamentals of cheerleading including motions, jumps, stunts, tumbling, and dance while developing teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. We strive to create a fun, positive and encouraging environment where athletes can grow their skills, build friendships, and represent our community with pride.

Mustangs Cheerleading runs a Sideline season from August through November each year and an Extended Season from September through February.

Practice sessions vary week-to-week, but are typically held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Mustangs Cheer follows the Mustangs Football schedule for gameday cheer. Games are normally held on Saturdays.

There are also local competitions held on Sundays throughout the season in Baltimore, Harford, and Howard Counties.

The program is open for any child between 5-14 of all skill levels.

Participants only need to bring their uniform, shoes, and accessories (like pom-poms). The cheer mats and other items needed are provided by the program. Please bring proper eyewear (for those requiring glasses), and water.

  • Permitted: Simple hair ties and headbands in team colors.
  • Not Permitted: Jewelry, including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, is not allowed during games for safety reasons.

The cheer mats and other items are provided by the program.

The Cheer team sells a calendar, raises money through cookie bakes, and helps everyone cool off with Kona Ice! Each of these programs runs monthly throughout the season.

We fundraise to purchase cheer mats, offset competition fees, and engage with sponsors.

Cheer Camp is an exciting way to continue to engage with your fellow athletes. There are two annual Cheer Camps:

  • Spring: Saturdays at 10am through 12pm starting in May
  • Summer: Last week in July from 5:30pm through 7:30pm

All of our programs rely entirely on dedicated, non-paid volunteers. If you’re passionate about helping everyone within our community grow and succeed, we’d love to have you on board as a Coach, Assistant Coach, or helper! No prior experience is needed-just a commitment to making a positive impact. See our [Volunteer] Page for the process.

Thanks from the squad!
